About
I'm Alex, a data scientist and co-founder of JARstack, a data analytics consultancy in Rotterdam that helps SMEs turn their data into decisions. We build the full chain, from data engineering and dashboards to AI automation.
My background is in econometrics and international economics, which I studied at Erasmus School of Economics. That training still shapes how I work. I care less about the model that looks clever and more about the one that holds up under scrutiny and changes what a business actually does.
Outside JARstack I've built and sold a product of my own, Gymble, an AI-driven fitness web app. I also lead business development for India expansion at Epsi Fund, which backs Shopify app developers. Between those, most of my work and network sits in fintech and e-commerce, and that's where this blog focuses.

Work with me
I take on freelance and stand-in data science work alongside JARstack, whether that's joining a team for a project or filling a gap while you hire. If that sounds useful, reach me on LinkedIn or by email.
I work in English, Russian and French, and split my time between the Netherlands, France and Georgia.
